While living in China I was constantly amazed by the scale of everything and how the perpetual chaos that bewildered me was the relative-normal for locals. This is a collection of scenes from around eastern China (Jiangsu, Anhui, Shanghai, Zhejiang). Though quite rocky at times, living in mainland China was one of the most rewarding periods of my life so far.

I've since traveled to Hong Kong and Macau and can confirm the spirit and frenetic pace of life exhibited the photos above extends to other parts of China (and much of eastern Asia) as well.

Though it's been years since my first foray into China there literally has not been one day when I haven't looked back on my time there and been grateful for the different people I met and things I was able to see, learn and experience while there.

In many ways the experience reshaped the ways I look at the world and it was undoubtedly the spark from which many other subsequent adventures in Asia were lit.
