climbing anxious spires

A series of some of my favorite environmental portraits from around the world. In much of the time I’ve spent wandering, observing, and thinking I’ve made it a goal to steer into the unknown instead of avoiding it.

The title climbing anxious spires doesn’t pertain to the content of these photos as much as the processes and decisions that led me to ending up in the unfamiliar places where the photos were taken.

For me the photos are tiny pieces of quintessential experience and the essence of travel: scenes of isolation, confusion, awe, and wonder, both mine and that of the respective subjects.
