Architecture and the man-made structures around us are an inescapable part of our everyday lives (at least for most anyone capable of reading this website). Buildings are simultaneously a reflection of cultural priorities and a persistent influence on us, both overtly and in more subtle ways. Some are inspirational for their aesthetic appeal and detail, others due to their abandoned or decrepit state.
Their existence is generally static (barring earthquakes, repairs, etc.) and users are the blood flowing through them, giving them meaning other than just being a sculpture.
